Event details

Get up early and join a naturalist to learn birding basics. We’ll talk about what to look for when identifying birds, practice how to focus binoculars and compare different styles of field guides. Then we’ll head out on a hike to try out our identification skills.

If you have binoculars and a favorite field guide, bring them; otherwise, we will have a few to share. Prior to the program, you may wish to download the free Merlin Bird ID app to your phone.
