Theodore Marsh loop trail will close for asphalt conversion
The Theodore Marsh loop trail will be closed starting Wednesday, July 8, for an asphalt conversion project.
The 0.37-mile crushed limestone path will be paved to prevent erosion issues that were occurring on this section of trail, which stretches from the preserve access to Manico Drive.
Silt fencing will be installed on Tuesday, July 7, and some equipment will be staged but the trail will remain open to the public until Wednesday’s closure.
The project is expected to take three weeks to one month to complete. Updates will be posted here as needed.
This trail conversion will include a no-mow turf edge, which will be used for the first time in the District. A short grass prairie edge will be planted instead of grass that has to be mowed. This is better for wildlife and more environmentally beneficial.
