Event details

Come smash and bash and save the Earth! Halloween is over, and your porch pumpkins have seen better days. Choose how your jack-o’-lantern will meet its demise — pounded to a pulp, rolled into a heap or dropped over a railing. Then add those bits and pieces to the compost pile to complete the cycle. Work up an appetite smashing your pumpkin then enjoy roasting free hot dogs and marshmallows over a campfire. Warm up with a cozy beverage from The Bean Wagon Coffee Co. It’s going to be a smashing good time! 

Pumpkin Smash is a regional event spearheaded by SCARCE to promote composting and wise use of resources. By composting your pumpkin, you are keeping waste out of landfills, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and creating a natural fertilizer for soils. 

Event requirements

No registration required.

This event will take place on paved paths and natural surfaces across uneven terrain. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should mention their request when registering or submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
