The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

The 34-acre Deer Creek Preserve was acquired in 1994.

The preserve is part of the Thorn Creek preservation system, which conserves approximately 1,600 acres.

Deer Creek Preserve protects a diversity of habitats, including forest, prairie and a portion of Deer Creek.

The preserve is home to a variety of plant species, including wild sarsaparilla and pagoda dogwood.

Deer Creek Preserve is located south of Norfolk Avenue and west of Kings Road in Crete Township.
