The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Monee Reservoir Shelter Rentals

Monee Reservoir has two shelters and one grove available, and a permit is required for all groups of 25 or more to use a shelter. Groups smaller than 25 also can purchase a permit, which grants exclusive use of a shelter for the entire day.

Reservations must be made at least two business days in advance of the reservation date.

You may access the shelter beginning at 8 a.m. You must clean up and exit the preserve by sunset.

All reservations must be made in person. Reservations are not taken over the phone. A permit can be purchased at any of the following visitor centers:

  • Sugar Creek Administration Center, Joliet
  • Isle a la Cache Museum, Romeoville
  • Plum Creek Nature Center, Crete Township
  • Monee Reservoir, Monee Township
