Storm damage closes some preserves, trails

Damage from recent storms has caused some Forest Preserve closures.

Here are the current storm reports:

• Campsites #2 and #4 at Goodenow Grove Nature Preserve in Crete Township are closed due to downed trees.
• The trail at Raccoon Grove Nature Preserve in Monee Township remains closed due to downed trees.
• The "Big Bridge" on the Plum Creek Greenway Trail in Crete Township has been closed since storms on July 27. Path users can hike to the bridge from the north or the south, but they cannot cross the bridge.
