An Afternoon with Friends: Our Amphibians and Reptiles

Let’s explore our local frogs and toads and salamanders and reptiles with Susan Lawrence, retired professor of biology at Aurora University. Lawrence will share her knowledge and experience in studying and monitoring northeastern Illinois amphibians. 

Thorn Creek Woods Nature Preserve is rich in amphibian species with its many vernal ponds, Owl Lake marsh and Thorn Creek’s broad floodplain and tributaries. Don't miss this opportunity to uncover the diversity, ecological importance, and, yes, beauty of our local wetland creatures.

Our annual gathering of nature lovers is open to the public. There will be a short Friends meeting, including an update on the pedestrian bridge, followed by the presentation and refreshments. This program is sponsored by the Jim Marzuki Memorial Fund.
