To properly maintain and protect the Forest Preserve’s investment in its asphalt roadways, parking lots and trail systems, the Maintenance & Operations Department regularly contracts preventative maintenance work, including crack sealing, seal coating, and re-striping based on frequency, age, and pavement condition.
