Messenger Woods Nature Preserve closed for road reconstruction

Messenger Woods Nature Preserve in Homer Glen is scheduled to be closed from Monday, May 18, through Friday, June 12.

The four-week closure is necessary as entrance road repairs get underway. During the closure, the entrance road will be removed and replaced as part of a contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners in April. 

Project work south of the site will begin on Monday, May 11, but it will not require the preserve to be closed at that time. 

Weather and other factors could change this timeline. Updates will be posted here as needed
