Rock Run Greenway Trail section to close

A sidewalk section of the Rock Run Greenway Trail, just west of Covered Bridge Way in Joliet, will be closed for ComEd utility pole relocation work. 

The 30-foot trail section is scheduled to be closed on Monday, Nov. 20, Tuesday, Nov. 21, Wednesday, Nov. 29, and Thursday, Nov. 30. 

Weather and other factors could affect this timeline. Updates will be posted here as necessary.

December will be a month to 'remember' for Take It Outside Challenge participants

The theme for the final month of the yearlong Take It Outside Challenge is December to Remember. Participants will have to remember where certain preserve sites are located to rack up points. The challenge ends Dec. 31.

'The Natural World Art Exhibit' opens Dec. 1 at Hidden Oaks Nature Center

Take a break during this busy holiday season to view the beauty of nature by stopping by “The Natural World Art Exhibit" at Hidden Oaks Nature Center in Bolingbrook from Dec. 1 through Jan. 26. An opening night reception will be held on Dec. 1.
