The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Event Details

Walk the paved paths along the Des Plaines River while watching for American bald eagles and other birds wintering around the preserve. Stop in Four Rivers Environmental Education Center for a complimentary hot beverage to warm up. Take time to view informative displays about eagles and check out the interactive exhibit “Wings on the River.”

Ongoing activities will include bird talks, indoor bird watching, daily showings of the PBS film “American Eagle” at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and more.

Dress for the weather and use caution while walking outdoors as snow and ice may be present on paths and parking areas. The building is accessible. Outdoor areas include paved and natural surface terrain. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
