Event details
There’s a great, big world out there, but what’s underneath? From tiny organisms and mysterious creatures to covert ecosystems, discover the hidden life we usually ignore in this insightful summer series. Join us for one program or come to all four. Each is held at a different visitor center in Will County. In this second program, dig under the soil to investigate the different layers and the critters that dwell underneath. Start inside the nature center for a discussion of what we are looking for then go outside to explore Underneath: The Soil firsthand and get your hands dirty sifting through different soil samples.
Event requirements
Registration required by Thursday, July 27: 708-946-2216.
Please wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
The program may include walking up to 1.5 miles on natural trails over uneven terrain. Plum Creek Nature Center is an accessible facility. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should mention their request when registering or submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
