Event details

If you’ve ever thought that being “outdoorsy” sounded good in theory but perhaps a little intimidating in practice, this is the program for you! Bring your own comfort and experience level as your entry point and enjoy a presentation on our preserves as well as other local, state and national green spaces and what kind of recreation you might dip your toes into in the great outdoors.

Come curious and ready to connect with others as we talk through what barriers we might face in experiencing nature on our own terms. We’ll take a short hike in the prairie to break up classroom time, so please bring weather-appropriate layers for the outdoors, as well as sturdy walking shoes or boots.

Event requirements

Registration required by Wednesday, Jan. 10: 815-727-8700.
