'The Natural World' Art Exhibit Reception

Kick off the winter wonderland season at Hidden Oaks Nature Center by experiencing the natural world both indoors and out! Join us as we usher in a new art exhibit curated by the Bolingbrook Arts Council. Local artists will be displaying their take on the natural world and what from the wild inspires them. Plus engage with the art pieces by voting for your favorite to award artists the People’s Choice and Kids’ Choice awards.

Continue to explore and appreciate the art by challenging yourself and your family and friends to an I Spy Art Scavenger Hunt. See who can find the intricate details that you may never have noticed at first glance.

During the opening night, we will host a craft station; become inspired and create nature art to bring home using natural materials. Snack on festive cookies and listen to familiar tunes to help get those creative juices flowing. Then take a cozy comfort drink to explore the quiet winter woods with a short, self-guided lantern-lit stroll. End your walk at an inviting campfire to roast s’mores. Don’t forget to visit our gift shop for a wide range of fair trade and small business items that would make the perfect gift this giving season.

No registration required.

This art exhibit is hosted indoors in an accessible facility with elevator access to the exhibit space. The lantern-lit stroll will be on uneven natural terrain of less than 0.5 mile. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should mention their request when registering or submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
