The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Event Details

Explore Whalon Lake by kayak! This preserve boasts a variety of habitats and wildlife to see from the water.

We provide all of the necessary equipment and materials required for you to independently explore this natural area and practice your paddling skills.

Be sure to wear shoes and clothes that can get wet and don’t forget your sunscreen, sunglasses and a water bottle.

There are three different sessions for this program.

  • Session 1: 9:30-11 a.m.
  • Session 2: 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Session 3: 1:30-3 p.m.

Previous kayaking experience is required. Due to the nature of this program, walk-up registration is not allowed.

The launch area is easily accessible by a paved path from the parking lot. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should mention their request when registering, or submit a request on-line no later than 48 hours before the program.
