The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Event Details

Let your kid’s imagination run wild! The Forest Preserve is pairing your child’s favorite pastime activity, LEGO®, with outdoor exploration.

Travel to different forest preserve sites, explore hidden habitats with a naturalist, and then it’s time to get building. We will discover some hidden habitat gems using binoculars, bug boxes, insect nets and more.

Once we get a feel for our muse, we will brainstorm the best way to recreate the habitat using LEGO® bricks and discover just how all of the pieces fit together in nature. The STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) strong aspect will be our little secret.

Event Requirements

Registration is required by Tuesday, July 30: 708.946.2216.

The program and hike will take place outdoors on natural surfaces across uneven terrain. The hike will be less than 1 mile. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request on-line no later than 48 hours before the event.
