Which city carries the nickname “City of Stone and Steel”? Joliet’s once-thriving industrial plant rivaled Pittsburgh’s steel power, and its stone foundations are more than 100 years old.
At the Joliet Iron Works Historic Site, a naturalist will share the stories of the men and machines that worked at this site, along with many other fascinating facts during this program.
Registration is required by calling 815.886.1467 by Tuesday, August 20.
Paved walkways are accessible on the 1-mile tour. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should mention their request when registering, or submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
