In the heart of Will County, thousands of locals and immigrants got jobs at steel mills and the quarries that harvest stone from the area’s bedrock. Today we can see relics of these industries throughout our forest preserves. Get a brief introduction to Keepataw Preserve’s industrial past and then hike the preserve’s trails.

The hike will be up to 2 miles over uneven natural terrain. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this workday should mention their request when registering, or submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the workday.
