This instructional workshop, led by the United States Canoe Association (USCA) certified instructors, introduces beginners to the sport of kayaking.
Basic paddling instruction and safety is covered on shore, and then participants head to the water and try out new skills. Topics covered include safety equipment, weather, proper clothing and general kayak equipment. Participants will learn basic paddling strokes and proper paddling technique. They will also become familiar with the various types of recreational kayaks on the market. Wet exits will be demonstrated by instructors on the water.
Group rates are available. Call for more information. Private one-on-one paddling instruction is also available by appointment only.
