Owl Prowl for Families: Hickory Creek Preserve
Date: Thursday, November 9, 2023
Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Age: All ages.
Bring the family for a hike as evening turns into night in the forest. Bundle up and strap on your favorite hiking boots as we set out in search of our elusive owl friends. Discover just how many species reside in Will County and how to differentiate them. Learn how big they can get, what they look like and where you can find them. Afterward, warm up by a fire and enjoy roasting marshmallows.
Registration required by Wednesday, Nov. 8: 815-722-4121.
Dress for the weather, as the entire program will be outdoors. The program will begin at the preserve’s first pavilion, Shagbark Grove Shelter.
The hike will be 1 mile to 2 miles over uneven, natural terrain. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
