Welcome home! Join us as we celebrate the grand reopening of our beloved and newly renovated Hidden Oaks Nature Center. There will be live music, community and festivities throughout the preserve. While we’re at it, we’d like to take this moment to showcase the rest of the crew that helps make the Forest Preserve District great. Meet members of our conservation team, the Forest Preserve police and our Operations Department, who will be hosting our very own Forest Preserve touch-a-truck along with many more! This is a great opportunity to meet the Forest Preserve family!
After you meet everyone, enjoy hotdogs and s’mores over an open fire as you snag a commemorative giveaway. The preserve will be bustling with a variety of activities, including chainsaw carving, a birds of prey presentation, complimentary henna and visits with our bee besties!
Did we mention saying hi to your old friends, our resident reptiles? Come inside and immerse yourself in our new state-of-the-art nature center exhibits! There’s so much to do, so bring your family, friends and neighbors to party with the Forest Preserve. It feels like it’s been so long – we’ve missed you! Hidden Oaks Nature Center is an accessible facility.

Hidden Oaks Nature Center is an accessible facility. Outdoor activities will take place on natural surfaces on less than 1 mile of uneven terrain. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should mention their request when registering or submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
