The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Those trails include:

  • Forked Creek Preserve – Ballou Road Access, Wilmington
  • Hadley Valley, Joliet
  • Hammel Woods – Route 59 Access, Shorewood
  • Hickory Creek Preserve – LaPorte Road Access, Mokena
  • Lake Chaminwood Preserve, Minooka
  • McKinley Woods – Kerry Sheridan Grove, Channahon
  • Monee Reservoir, Monee
  • Prairie Bluff Preserve, Crest Hill

Trail lengths range from 1.5 to 4 miles, and each trail offers its own unique experience. Bring your binoculars, field guides and a camera. Trails provide great photo opportunities. You can then share your pictures on social media or even enter them into the Forest Preserve’s Preserve the Moment photo contest, which runs through December 31.

This program runs daily from Saturday, September 1 - Friday, November 30.
