The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Event Details

Messenger Woods is famous for its display of bluebells, trilliums and other springtime wildflowers. The forest floor is painted with pinks, reds, blues, and white!

Meet at the Hawthorn Grove Shelter to briefly learn what makes this preserve so special. Then, enjoy a hike with a naturalist and take photos along the way.

This program is recommended for any camera, smartphones to digital SLRs. The program will focus on technique and composition, not camera operation.

Registration required by Thursday, May 7: 708.946.2216. 


Activities may take place on natural surfaces across uneven terrain. The hike will be approximately 1 mile. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
