The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Event Details

Drop by to learn about Native American longhouses, one of several types of dwellings used by the Potawatomi. Our longhouse will be set dressed and open for viewing. Learn about the daily lives of a Potawatomi and discover how longhouses were built and used by the Native people.

This is a drop-in program; come anytime between 10 a.m. and noon.

Event Requirements

No registration required. 

Isle a la Cache Museum is an accessible facility. Visiting the longhouse requires walking less than 1 mile on paved and limestone trails across uneven terrain. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should call 815.886.1467, or submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
