Event details
Join us the second Thursday of the month to discuss an important work of fiction or nonfiction that helps connect us to our natural and cultural history. The summer Leafing Through Time Book Club series is BYOB (beer or wine only, please). The book for July is “Once There Were Wolves” by Charlotte McConaghy. Set in the Cairngorm mountain range in the eastern Highlands of Scotland, the novel explores a scientist’s struggle to release wolves and reestablish packs in their native territory amid friction from residents, landowners and farmers.
The book club selections for June through August are as follows:
- June 9: “Fuzz: When Nature Breaks the Law” by Mary Roach
- July 14: “Once There Were Wolves” by Charlotte McConaghy
- August 11: “The Way of the Coyote: Shared Journeys in the Urban Wilds” by Gavin Van Horn
