Event details
Join us the second Thursday of the month to discuss an important work of fiction or nonfiction that helps connect us to our natural and cultural history. The summer Leafing Through Time Book Club series is BYOB (beer or wine only, please). The book for August is “The Way of the Coyote: Shared Journeys in the Urban Wilds” by Gavin Van Horn. Part urban travelogue, part reflection on the role wildlife in our modern world, this book investigates the tremendous diversity in cities like Chicago.
The book club selections for June through August are as follows:
- June 9: “Fuzz: When Nature Breaks the Law” by Mary Roach
- July 14: “Once There Were Wolves” by Charlotte McConaghy
- August 11: “The Way of the Coyote: Shared Journeys in the Urban Wilds” by Gavin Van Horn
