While many species become dormant over the winter, lichens and mosses are thriving! Come enjoy a winter morning learning about these unique and hardy species. This program will begin indoors with a brief discussion, and then we will head outside to explore the preserve looking for individual specimens.
Registration required by Thursday, January 23: 815.722.9470.
Dress for the weather and use caution while walking outdoors as snow and ice may be present on paths and parking lots.
Indoor facilities are accessible. Participants will hike 1-2 miles over paved surfaces and uneven, natural terrain. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
