Event details
Beat the heat and find the early birds by coming to this early-morning guided hike. Kankakee Sands Preserve is great habitat for prairie birds, and this is a great time of year to search for them. Beginning birders are welcome as this is a great way to learn birds and birding. Bring along binoculars and your favorite bird guide. Dress to hike the trails in search of birds.

Registration is required by Saturday, July 1: 708-946-2216.
The hike will be 1.5 miles to 2 miles on natural surfaces across uneven terrain. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should mention their request when registering or submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
