The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Event Details

Explore the secrets that our forests hold in the evening hours. Join naturalists as they search for the elusive winged predator, the owl. Discover the natural history of Will County owls and why they call at this time of year.

Enjoy an outdoor fire, hot cocoa and marshmallows. Bring your favorite mug and camping chair to sit by the fire.

This program will also be offered from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, December 27, and 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, December 28. The 7 to 9 p.m. program on Friday is geared toward quieter adult audiences.

All programs will be held outdoors, so please dress for the weather. 

Participants will hike on natural surface trails across uneven and possibly snow covered terrain. Be prepared to walk 1.5 miles. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should call 708.946.2216, or submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
