The voyageurs called them toques; today we call them beanies. Whatever the name, a knit wool cap is iconic and essential for winter weather! Join a naturalist for beginner-friendly instruction on how to finger knit your own winter beanie, and learn about the voyageurs and 18th-century headwear while you craft.
The event is BYOY (bring your own yarn); suggested is two skeins with a weight of 5.
Registration required by Sunday, Nov. 6: 815-886-1467.
This program takes place indoors in an accessible facility. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should mention their request when registering, or submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
