Imagine coming to America to build a new life and creating a thriving farm dug from Illinois’ prairies. Centered around family life, that is just what the Clows did at Riverview Farmstead in Wheatland Township. Through pictures and even a couple artifacts, an interpretive naturalist will share the stories of struggles and successes from the 19th century and into the 20th century that shaped this family and their community. Discover the homestead and barn that now rests on Riverview Farmstead Preserve from the comfort of a chair at Isle a la Cache Museum, then explore “Raising Riverview,” the temporary exhibit created by museum staff. Light refreshments provided.
Registration required by Tuesday, March 19: 815-722-9301.
The museum is an accessible facility. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
