Event details

Which city carried the nickname “City of Steel and Stone”? Joliet’s once-thriving industrial plant rivaled Pittsburgh’s steel power. Through pictures and even a couple of artifacts, an interpretive naturalist will share the fascinating stories of the men and machines that worked at Joliet Iron Works Historic Site. Discover the grounds from the comfort of a chair at Isle a la Cache Museum, then explore “Stories From Steel,” the temporary Joliet Iron Works exhibit created by museum staff. Light refreshments will be provided.
