The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Event Details

***Due to the stay-at-home order issued by Gov. J.B. Pritzker that is in effect through April 7, this program has been canceled.***

Scouts make a difference through leadership, service and community engagement. This program is an opportunity to make a difference in the local community by learning about plastic pollution and then spending some time cleaning up the shoreline!

Event Requirements

Registration required by Monday, March 30: 815.722.9470. No online registration.

Dress for the weather and for getting dirty. Waterproof footwear is highly recommended.

Cleanup instructions and safety equipment will be provided on the day of the event. Due to the proximity to water and the unpredictable nature of the debris we will be collecting, this cleanup is limited to individuals 8 years of age or older.

The clean-up areas are off-trail and require walking through rough, uneven terrain. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
