The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Event Details

***Due to the stay-at-home order issued by Gov. J.B. Pritzker that is in effect through April 7, this program has been canceled.***

Spring migration is underway and new birds are arriving every week. Join a naturalist and learn how to find the birds that are arriving. The hike will start at Monee Reservoir, where it’s likely to find waterfowl and shorebirds, and then we will hop over to Raccoon Grove Nature Preserve just down the road to look for species that would be in a wooded habitat.

This hike is great for anyone interested in birds, beginner to experienced, and should allow for a wide variety of species to be seen.

Event Requirements

No registration required.

Bring along binoculars and dress for the weather. A limited supply of binoculars will be available for use.

Participants will hike up to 2 miles on natural surfaces across uneven terrain. Meet at the Monee Reservoir’s visitor center. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
