There are many ways to showcase the sheer power of nature, and while a photo or standard video can do the trick, there's nothing more magically jaw-dropping than a timelapse video.
We've used timelapse video to showcase sunrises and sunsets at Monee Reservoir, as well as how nature seemingly paints a rolling canvas of clouds in the sky.
While beautiful, those are nothing compared to an amazing timelapse video created by Ryan McGinnis, a storm photographer based out of central Nebraska.
His video, simply titled "Stormlapses," captures various storms shot across Nebraska, Kansas and Wyoming. It's filled with equal parts beauty and danger that will leave you unable to look away.
"People sometimes ask why I get so close to storms to photograph them," McGinnis wrote on Reddit. "It’s because I can’t find a better way to convey how incredible our world is, and how small we are in comparison."
McGinnis embarks on a trip across the Great Plains each spring and he's amassed quite a collection of magical moments, which can be seen on his website.
