The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

A portion of the Old Plank Road Trail between Cedar Road and Joliet Highway in New Lenox is closed for bridge improvements.

The work will reinforce the bridge embankment and improve the approach to the bridge on both ends. The project began July 12 and will continue into the week of July 18. Signs will be posted to alert trail users and barricades will be stationed at cross streets near the construction.

Those using the trail during that time can detour around the work by taking the sidewalks along Cedar Road and Joliet Highway.

Those traveling southeast on the Old Plank Road Trail can use the sidewalk on the east side of Cedar Road and then turn left at Joliet Highway, continuing to use the sidewalk there until reaching the trail again. Those traveling northwest can use the sidewalk on the north side of Joliet Highway, and then turn right onto the sidewalk at Cedar Road until meeting the trail.

Trail users are asked to exercise caution and to be courteous to others who are also using the detour route.

Weather and other unexpected factors could impact the work schedule. Updates will be posted here as needed.
