This ongoing program runs from Thursday, July 1, to Tuesday, August 31. Hours are 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays to Sundays. The visitor center is closed Mondays.
Please note: Wearing a mask is recommended for those who are not fully vaccinated.
Monee Reservoir is your place for fishing this summer. Through August 31, bring your catch to the visitor center, and we will measure, photograph and record your fish to enter you in the contest. At the end of the contest, prizes will be awarded for the biggest bass, catfish and panfish by length. Your photo will be included on the Monee Reservoir Big Fish Display in the visitor center. Even if you don’t have the biggest fish in a category, there is a chance to win a prize just for entering. All prize winners will receive a $100 Forest Preserve District gift card.
Monee Reservoir supports catch and release, and we encourage all entries to be live and released. Winners will be announced September 1.
No registration required.
The visitor center and sidewalks are accessible. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should mention their request when registering, or submit a request on-line no later than 48 hours before the program.
