The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Please note: Masks are required for all in-person, indoor and outdoor program participants, with the exception of those younger than 2 years old and those with a medical condition or disability that prevents them from wearing one, per state guidelines.

Have you ever spotted a cotton rump, fish hawk, or a saw bill when birding? You probably have but didn’t know the birds by those names! Join on us on a morning bird hike while we identify birds using their historic folk names.

Whether you are just beginning or are an experienced birder, you won’t want to miss this fun experience. The varied habitat at Isle a la Cache preserve makes it a great place for birdwatching. The hike will follow the shores of the Des Plaines River. Binoculars are recommended.
