The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Let’s go on a pliking adventure where we pick up litter while taking a short hike. Pliking is a great way to improve the environment while enjoying the outdoors and also building strength, balance and flexibility. Combining your favorite outdoor activity with garbage pickup is a fabulous way to reduce litter in our natural areas while improving your health.

Event Requirements

Registration required by Friday, February 18: 815.727.8700.

We will embrace the outdoors in winter; dress for the weather and bring a pair of gloves to wear while picking up trash. Trash bags and garbage pickers will be provided. Meet in the Riverview Farmstead Preserve parking lot.

The hike will be approximately 1.5 miles over uneven terrain with snow and ice possible on the road or trail.  Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should call 815.886.1467, or submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
