Our volunteer workdays provide an opportunity for you to contribute to your community, support your local environment, meet fellow nature-lovers, and get some fresh air and exercise.
All winter workdays will focus on removal of woody invasive species. Participants will be cutting and hauling invasive trees and shrubs. Brush pile burns may occur during these Habitat Management Mornings, so wearing old clothes that could get dirty or burnt is recommended.
Please dress for outdoor work and the weather. Wear long pants, closed-toe shoes and work gloves.
An RSVP for the Forest Preserve District’s volunteer workdays is required for all individuals and groups. Call Emily Kenny at 815.722.7364 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Work will take place on uneven terrain that is primarily natural surface. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this workday should mention their request when registering, or submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the workday.
