Cross-Country Skiing

The Centennial Trail is being periodically closed between 135th Street in Romeoville and the Cook County line. View more information.

Goodenow Grove Nature Preserve and Plum Creek Nature Center in Beecher are closed for preserve improvements. View more information.

We do not clear trails following a snowfall so that when snow covered, these trails become ideal for cross-country skiing.

Both asphalt and limestone-screened trails are suitable for this winter activity. Cross-country skiers can choose trails that are relatively flat or, for a more demanding workout, trails that feature rising and dropping terrain.
