Throughout Will County, we have provided asphalt and limestone screening trails that are ideal for biking. Whether you are seeking a leisurely ride or a serious workout, a trail is available, and it is likely close to home.
The 21-mile Old Plank Road Trail gives bicyclists an asphalt trail that features rolling terrain and a backdrop that includes forests, meadows, and wetlands.
The Rock Run Trail and Joliet Junction Trail in Joliet and Crest Hill offer bicyclists a 16-mile trail loop, passing through Theodore Marsh Preserve, Rock Run Preserve, and a natural area on the property of Joliet Junior College.
The 2.8-mile Hickory Creek Bikeway - West Branch in Mokena connects Schoolhouse Road to Hickory Creek Junction on Route 30. This trail passes through scenic woodlands, wetlands, and prairie.
The 2.7-mile Hickory Creek Bikeway - East Branch is accessed at LaPorte Road and features a backdrop of woodlands and rolling terrain.
In Plainfield, bicyclists can enjoy the 2.9-mile Lake Renwick Bikeway.
We also offer a number of biking programs during the year. These include the "Ride the Rock" event in May and the "Cruise the Creek" event in October.
While biking, please practice proper etiquette to ensure the safety of, and courtesy toward, other trail users. Bicyclists must yield to pedestrians, stay to the right side of the trail, and announce that they are passing other trail users.
