The 80-acre Wayne Lehnert Preserve on Center Road in Peotone Township was acquired in 1971 and named after a District Board member. A tree plantation and grassland were put in during the early 1970s as “wildlife” habitat. There is no public access or facilities planned, and no ongoing resource restoration or management activities.
