Joliet Junction Trail

Bicycle Riders on Joliet Junction TrailBetween 2000 and 2002, the District acquired a 60-acre abandoned private railroad in Joliet and developed it as the Joliet Junction Trail in partnership with the City of Joliet.

The Joliet Junction Trail begins at Theodore Street near Route 30 and parallels Larkin Avenue for 4.4 miles. The paved trail connects to the limestone screened I&M Canal State Trail in Rockdale via a 1.6-mile street route. Trail users looking for a longer trip can then connect to the Rock Run Trail for a 16-mile loop.

Parking for Joliet Junction Trail is available at Theodore Marsh in Crest Hill or off of Joyce Road, south of Jefferson Street in Joliet.
