The 43-acre wood lot known as Hunters Woods was acquired between 1973 and 1975.  It lies adjacent to Old Plank Road Trail on 78th Avenue in what was then the eastern edge of the Village of Frankfort, but it is now surrounded by subdivisions.  The oak woodland and small marsh have limited access, wildlife viewing, and an unimproved trail.
