Hammel Woods Bikeway

Man and Dog Walking on Hammel Woods BikewayThe 1.7-mile, paved Hammel Woods Bikeway is part of the multi-jurisdictional DuPage River Trail and takes visitors through forest and prairie along the scenic DuPage River. The trail may be accessed at Hammel Woods from Black Road or Route 59.

Trail users can stop to rest at any of three shelters along the trail, drop a fishing line in the nearby DuPage River, or give man's best friend some off-leash fun in the dog park (permit required).

In 2012, an extension of the Hammel Woods Bikeway/DuPage River Trail will be constructed, and improvements will be made to the dog park and trailhead area at DuPage River Access. View more information about this project.
