Messenger Woods Nature Preserve Selective Tree and Brush Control
Project Location:
The project is located at Messenger Woods Nature Preserve on Bruce Road, north of Route 6 (Southwest Highway) and east of Cedar Road, in Homer Glen.
Project Description:
The Messenger Woods Nature Preserve Selective Tree and Brush Control project consists of the selective thinning of understory trees and invasive brush at Messenger Woods Nature Preserve in order to restore light levels at the forest floor that are conducive to regenerating canopy tree species, sustaining native shrub populations, and maintaining a diverse herbaceous community. 

This project is funded by the Forest Preserve District's Capital Improvement Program.

Work is planned for December 2011 through October 2013.
