Lake Chaminwood Improvements
Project Location:
The project is located at Lake Chaminwood, south of Shepley Road and north of the I&M Canal in Troy Township.
Project Description:
The Lake Chaminwood Improvements project consists of the development of public access and recreation areas at Lake Chaminwood. This initial phase of development will include construction of an access area
with vehicular parking, latrine, drinking fountain, information board,
and a small shelter with picnic tables and grills. Also included is a 0.7-mile multi-use asphalt trail around the east lake, which will provide
access to a canoe launch, fishing overlook, and shoreline fishing
opportunities.
This project is being funded by the Forest Preserve District's Capital Improvement Program.
Construction is planned for September 2011 through July 2012.
