The information below is provided to keep you informed about the Forest Preserve District of Will County's ongoing or recently completed land acquisition, restoration, and development projects.

This project is located at forest preserve parking lots and trails throughout Will County.
Project Description:
To properly maintain and protect the investment in its asphalt parking lots and trails, the District adopted the Infrastructure Maintenance and Replacement Program. As part of this program, various asphalt parking lots and trail segments throughout the District will be sealcoated and striped on a rotating schedule. This project also may also consist of an alternate that would include layout and centerline striping of certain multi-use trail segments.

Maintenance will take place at the following parking lot and roadway locations in 2015:
  • Forked Creek Preserve - Ballou Road Access, Wilmington
  • Forked Creek Preserve - Forsythe Woods, Wilmington
  • Goodenow Grove Nature Preserve, Beecher
  • Hammel Woods - Crumby Recreation Area, Shorewood
  • Hammel Woods - DuPage River Access, Shorewood
  • Lake Chaminwood Preserve, Minooka
  • Lower Rock Run Preserve - McClintock Road Access, Joliet
  • Operations and Law Enforcement Facility - Building D, Joliet
Sealcoating and striping maintenance will be focused on the following trail segments in 2015:
  • Hammel Woods/DuPage River Trail (DuPage River Access to Plainfield Township Park District property), Shorewood
  • Goodenow Grove Nature Preserve (asphalt trail segments), Beecher
  • Lake Chaminwood Preserve, Minooka
  • Teale Woods Preserve, Joliet
  • Veterans Memorial Trail (Centennial Trail to north boundary line), Romeoville to Woodridge
Additional centerline striping locations include:
  • Centennial Trail, Romeoville
  • Hickory Creek Bikeway (eastern segment), Mokena
  • Veterans Memorial Trail, Romeoville to Woodridge
  • Whalon Lake, Naperville
Parking lots and trails will be closed the day of sealcoating and the day after for striping. Notice of closures will be posted on the homepage of this website.

Work is scheduled for July through September 2015.
