Fishing Locations

According to the Forest Preserve District of Will County's General Use Ordinance 124, fishing is allowed in Forest Preserves, with the exception of those dedicated as Illinois Nature Preserves, or those lakes and ponds posted against fishing. Ice fishing is not permitted. All persons age 16 years or older must have a valid Illinois Fishing License.

The following sites are owned by the District and contain bodies of water. Fishing in these water bodies is permitted or prohibited as stated in the table below, based on Ordinance 124 and the Fishing Policy approved in 2008. Fishing is not allowed in some areas due to the designation of the site as an Illinois State Nature Preserve, property ownership issues, the presence of sensitive natural resources, the presence of safety or environmental hazards, or restricted site use.
